description
Not only is Fire the thread that unites humanity, but it is equally one of the few continuities linking man to the earliest times of habitation in Britain's woodlands and forests.
Its profoundly symbolic narratives span the human and natural world, bringing together opposing themes of life and death, creation and destruction, love and loss, nature and culture.
Placing these small fires in the midst of these forest clearings, Davies casts the forest in a warm light, holding back the dark and mysterious forces. The gentle orange hues imbue the scene with a sense of safety and comfort, which alters the very nature of the forest itself.
